Block Description
Brokenrock Vineyard Estate is one of Napa’s best vineyards for Bordeaux varieties. It is draped across the SW shoulder of Atlas Peak, embraced by cooling ocean breezes, and bathed in sunshine due to the SW exposure and elevation. The rocky volcanic soils result in modest vine vigor resulting in small berries and intensely flavored wines. The wines also present an intriguing minerality to go with intense fruit flavors and enhanced aromas. William (bill) Hill owns and farms this special property where he planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This vineyard is developed in a state-of-art way, reflecting Bill’s long career developing hillside vineyards. Bill is joined in managing the vineyard by his daughter Elana Hill.
