Block Description
Old School Vineyards, Northwest: This prime area of the vineyard encompasses approximately 76 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon across nine blocks, ranging from productive valley floor plantings to two distinct hillside blocks--R-Slope (3.25 acres) and Q-Hill (19.9 acres)--farmed on Tehama silt loam and Fagan clay loam respectively. The valley floor blocks are planted on Bale clay loam and Cole silt loam. All blocks are VSP trellised with WSW-ENE row orientation, cordon pruned except for 7+ acres cane pruned. Planting dates range from 1997 to 2015, with clones 4, 7, 15, 337 & Weimer represented across multiple rootstocks including 110R, 1103P and 3309C. Frost protected with wind machines.

Quality, Quantity, Beauty. I wish I could post some photographs of this beautiful vineyard. You'll just have to come visit! Old School Vineyards offers something somewhat unique in Napa - scale. This 76 acre quadrant produced 326 tons in 2025 (a high production year), with a six-year average of approximately 240 tons. The hillside blocks bring down the average tpa. This vineyard has been farmed with meticulous care under the same ownership since 1979. It is farmed sustainably and herbicides have not been used for many years. This beautiful vineyard represents an opportunity for a meaningful, long-term fruit sourcing partnership. The diversity of clones, rootstocks and planting dates across the blocks provides natural blending flexibility. We are happy to work with customers who want particular fruit from a small section of the vineyard, as well as buyers with more significant production needs.
