Block Description
Single block of Merlot totaling approximately 9.7 acres, planted in 1999 on VSP trellis with WSW-ENE row orientation. Clone 181 on 1103P rootstock, cordon pruned, 8x6 spacing. Always hand harvested. Frost protected by wind machine. Grown in beautiful Wooden Valley alongside our Cabernet Sauvignon program on mixed clay loam and silt loam soils well suited to the variety.
Notes
Approximately 42 tons of Napa Merlot available for 2026. This fruit is a natural companion to our Napa Cabernet Sauvignon program, or it's well suited as a standalone varietal if Merlot is all you need. This block is located right near our main reservoir. The vineyard has been farmed with care, attention and pride under the same ownership since 1979. Sustainably farmed, no herbicide use.
